I met him once, you know, at an AIDS fund-raiser in Berkely. I got a picture with him and everything.

The first thing that struck me was how very tall he was. The man was at least 6'4 when he unfurled himself. And those warm, loving eyes that twinkled merrily whenever the subject came round to Michele Pfeiffer. He had Dangerous Minds on Beta, VHS, and DVD.

The subject of Jews did come up, as I knew it must, in the shape of one pregnant word: Seinfeld.

"Seinfeld...." the Pontiff began, and then he seemed to lose himself. "Seinfeld......." he said again, and then collapsed in laughter.

After the reception we had tea and hamantashen. It was a good time.

Oh, and ridersinthesky11 - when Christ referred to the "rock" on which He would build His Church, he was referring to Peter (which means "rock," by the way). What a coincidence that Peter was the first Pope! "MY Church" IS the Catholic Church. Hope this clears things up.

What is the name of that religious bracelet?

Recently I have been seeing people with this bracelet on, from what I have seen it is made out of wood and it has little pictures of either the virgin mary or saints. I think has to do with Catholicism but I am not sure. Can anyone help me figure out what it is called and what is it's purpose.

It sounds like a rosary bead set. Roman Catholics use it in their prayer life by praying specific prayers and counting them off by the beads. But, since I am not Roman Catholic, I am just taking a stab in the dark.

Haven't seen it...but it looks fun. I just really wish they would've filmed a LIVE version, with Carey as Scrooge. You know, kind of like what Carey did in the modern film version of The Grinch!

IDK why they didn't do that...my guess is budget. Now they just film everything in animation and save a load of money.

Zeitgeist: A Movie For The Time

Since June 2007, the movie "ZEITGEIST" has been taking the internet by storm. As of December 2007, ZEITGEIST had already gathered more than 6 million hits, making it one of the most popular online videos of all time. In fact, on Google video, ZEITGEIST was the no. 1 video for the months of November and December 2007, and there doesn't seem to be any stopping it. The movie's creator, Peter Joseph, has reported some 40,000 to 60,000 hits to his website, ZEITGEISTmovie.com, per day! Also, in November 2007, ZEITGEIST was presented a "Best Feature" award at the prestigious Artivists Film Festival at the Egyptian theater in Hollywood. As one of the sources for Part 1 of ZEITGEIST, I was in attendance as a featured panel speaker addressing some 650 people, who shared a mind-blowing evening. How to Detox in Christian Rehab

have u seen/going to go see Disney's "A Christmas Carol?"?

im been hearing some thoughts about the movie... that they DON'T recommend it (mostly 4 kids) cuz some parts are scary...and others saying that they HIGHLY recommend it and that its awesome...so what are UR thoughts on the film if u have, or going to go see it soon? just curious

The special effects and the digital 3D and the Performance Capture technology are all AMAZING! But Dickens never intended this to be a story for children and the images are certainly alarming PLUS in 3D they jump right out in your face.

If you like the story (and a lot of people are bored by it because they've seen/read it so many times), then you should definitely go and see the digital 3D version; you'll be tempted to brush the snow off your lap.

Leave the kiddies at home.

Top 5 Christmas Traditions

If one will conduct a survey asking people on their favorite day of the year, most will probably say, Christmas. And when asked why, some might give you answers like they enjoy getting lots of presents, while others might say they look forward to parties, listening to Christmas carols, fixing wonderful decorations on every home and establishments, or others simply love the holiday.

The wonderful memories that this season invokes become a primary reason for the yearly traditions that are passed on from generation to generation. This case is definitely true for my family. At the first sign of autumn, we started to get excited for the most anticipated holiday of the year. With the coming of this festive season, here are five traditions which you and your family can start to practice.

Watching Christmas Movies

This tradition started way back then on a Thanksgiving Day by watching the 1947 black & white version of the movie entitled Miracle of 34th street. Since then, we were able to get more than 30 movie collections with Christmas themes in DVD's and videos. And so, it has become a yearly tradition for the whole month of December. We would gather in the living room together, sipping hot cocoa and eating Christmas cookies.

Baking during the Holidays

At home, every family member looks forward to the first week of Christmas vacation. For the first week, all of us would go into baking, spending 3 to 4 days baking our favorite Christmas recipes. Sometimes, we would get together at someone else's house and every person gets to bake their favorite holiday treats. While baking, we would reminisce good old times and enjoy a hearty laugh.
