St. Theresa the Little Flower

St. Theresa Novena?

I have the novena to St Theresa the little flower. The novena states that if after the 5th day of prayer you see a rose your prayer will be answered. I saw a rose accidently as it had been snowing and it was by chance I walked into a room with a vase of roses.
has this happened to anyone? Was their prayer answered

Point of order: 'The Little Flower' was St. TheresE.

St. TheresA was the confused woman who had a series of wet dreams, which she interpreted as heavenly ecstasies. In the spirit of the times, many seem to have agreed with her. Tut.

Some would say that seeing roses is hardly an unusual event, but far be it from me to burst your ickle bubble, I'm sure.

Pray in Faith

June 29th, 2009 raphael's helper No comments

When life is moving smoothly, it's always easy to preach that you should pray in faith that God will deliver. But your faith is tested when you are in a bind. That's when what you preach is tested - do you really pray with faith that God will provide and be beside you as you undergo your tribulation.

That moment of trial has descended on me. I'm in a bit of a financial limbo now as some of my financial investments have been hauled up by the authorities under suspicion of being money-laundering vehicles. This is despite the fact that one agency of the government approved the investment but another is being a wet blanket trying to suffocate you.

The organizers of the investment scheme have assured me that everything will be ironed out within 60 days, but the devilish voices keeping nagging that I will go under financially. Now is the time I'm being tested in my resolve to depend solely on God's wisdom and providence.

In the midst of this tumultous moments, my friend forwarded this story to me, that uplifted my spirit and assured me firther that Jesus is walking with me. I hope that it helps you too...

During World War II, a young soldier became separated from his unit on a Pacific Island. In the smoke and the crossfire, he had lost touch with his comrades. Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock and quickly crawled inside.

Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.   As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. in jesus name, Amen."

When he looked up from his despairing plea for help, he saw a spider beginning to weave its web at the entrance of the cave. As he watched the delicate threads being slowly drawn across the mouth of the cave, the young soldier pondered its irony. He thought to himself, "God really does have a sense of humor. I asked God for protection and deliverance and He sent me a spider instead. I needed a stone wall and God sent a spider. How can a spider save me?"

Soon he heard the sound of his enemies, who were now scouring the area looking for those in hiding. One soldier with a gun slowly walked up to the cave's entrance. As the young man crouched in the darkness, hoping to surprise the enemy in a last-minute desperate attempt to save his own life, he felt his heart pounding wildly out of control. As the enemy moved cautiously forward to enter the cave, he came upon the spider's web, which by now was completely strung across the opening. He backed away and called out to a comrade, "There can't be anyone in here. They would have had to break this spider's web to enter the cave. Let's move on."

The young man fell on his face and cried out to God, "Lord, forgive me, I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

Years later, this young man, who become a preacher and evangelist, wrote about that ordeal. What he observed has stood by me in times of trouble, especially during those times when everything seemed impossible. He wrote: "Where God is, a spider's web is as a stone wall. Where God is not, a stone wall is as a spider's web."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget the victories that God would work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways, if we would only trust him. Nehemiah reminded the people of Israel when they faced the task of rebuilding Jerusalem, "In God we will have success!" [Nehemiah 2:20]

Whatever is happening in your life today, just remember... "Where God is, a spider's web is as a stone wall. Where God is not, a stone wall is as a spider's web."

Nicene Creed for Children

nicene creed for children

The Christian doctrine of Ascension maintains that Jesus ascended into heaven in the presence of his eleven Apostles after his resurrection, and that in heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father. And where is this place called heaven? More difficult still is the question. Can be mounted before the Ascension? Say what?

The belief in the Ascension of Jesus is found in the Nicene Creed, and is confirmed by the Christian liturgy and, in the West the Apostles' Creed. The Ascension means humanity of Jesus being taken into heaven. And exactly where the sky poses a good question.

We were before we were here!

Some people believe that we have chosen this life, chose our parents, etc. Some people believe that we here on this planet before another age. You can find all sorts of ideas if you wish. In fact, Marty Dow wrote: "It is a species being spawned on the new planet at this time. This species is composed of beings of divine light manifests the fullness of the Spirit in their forms. They are completely absorbed by the power and presence of God - never separated from the Oneness with the Spirit. These new beings Light walking in the power of God, anointed by God to help those who have not yet awakened to shake off the yoke of sickness, struggle, poverty and the false sense of separation that has infected the Earth. "

Meg Blackburn Losey call these people under the following names: Children crystalline Indigo, Star Kids, etc.

Many scientists speak of the change of consciousness or dimensional change as a house "back", and some even using the word ascension. Many religions and cultures embrace the concept of "ascended masters". In some cultures, they talk about scientists and other which have reached a heightened sense of awareness, an awakening.

Others believe that the ascended masters are enlightened spiritual beings who have lived on earth as we do. In many lives, dedication and effort they have accomplished their mission and reason for being-their divine plan, and went to their divine source, reunification with the Spirit. Even if they had physical bodies like we wear, they now live in the world Heavenly, or etheric octave, and have bodies of light.

The waters can get pretty deep today can not they? :-)

It can be very deep and we lose many religious Sojourners who simply refuse to fold their tents and travel. But, looking at the lack of spiritual progress over tens of centuries, I must ask: what have we to lose? I not lose my salvation and neither are you. I'm not the proverbial (or literal) hell, and neither are you.

Standing out in the World

It is not really hard to stand out in the world. You will definitely be noticed if you have an unusual tattoo placed in the middle of your forehead, don a huge billboard advertising a hot dog stand, or just yell "Ice Cream Sundaes!" as loud as you can in a public area. Actually, everybody — or nearly everybody — distinguishes himself or herself by some means.

It has come to my attention that an increasing number of Christians avoid appearing conspicuous. They want to appear, behave, and be just like all the other people. In the past we had wolves dressed in sheep's clothing, but today we have sheep wearing wolves' clothing and preying on other sheep.

It's no wonder, certainly. People glanced at me strangely when I was wearing my jesus sweatshirt in the metro recently. I guess Jesus just isn't fashionable right now. Some believers shrink from being open about their beliefs.

Well, I have news for you. The time has come for you to stand out in the crowd. If you have faith in Jesus, then the time has come for you to start being noticed, but not for being similar to others. Proudly wear your crucifix necklace when at work, wear your purity ring, and do not be silent with regard to abstinence. When a person discusses his/her life, discuss the life that you were given -- one that you will have for eternity.

In all aspects of your life, you should strive to behave as if Jesus was by your side. Purity, excellence, and honor are not things to be ashamed of. You shouldn't force your beliefs on anyone else though. No one is recommending you tell your classmates they are going to burn for eternity. Even though you are standing out, you can't act like you are better than the other people you come across because they don't want to be bothered with you. You can shine brighter than others by being like christ.

He showed us that we should be honest, loving, compassionate, and patient. Of course, when someone was taking liberties with the truth, He took a stand on the side of what was right and did not waver. However, He was compassionate and giving too. People approached him and asked what was different and how they could achieve that, at least to some degree. The others saw how He lived and they wanted to be different and emulate Him. And we all ought to act like that.

So get your Christian T-shirts out and stop keeping your faith under wraps. God has called us to live for Him, and this takes precedence over everything else. It is possible for us to illustrate our faith by living in a manner similar to that of Christ and not being ashamed. Take my word for it — that will distinguish you from others. And perhaps some people will desire to possess what you possess: hope and purpose.

Distinguish yourself from others.

The City of Festivals

Paris is the world's most striking city. The chic Marais and St. Germain, the romantic stairway streets of Montmartre, the majestic grandeur that sweeps west from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower shining brightly as ever. But the magic is dispersing, especially to the north and east of the Bastille. The student and artistic types are infusing new vivacity into old working-class quarters, turning a disused train station into a club, a hardware store into a bar, a railroad into a garden walkway, old workshops into atmospheric restaurants.

Paris offers abundance choice and a wide variety of lively festivals. Among these are the free, city-wide Fête de la Musique which is held on 21 June, then the the Festival du Film de Paris held in early April and the biennial Festival d'Automne held during September to December which comprises of contemporary dance event. One can also visit free concerts which are held within the city's churches, during the Festival d'Art Sacré in the weeks preceding Christmas. Classical concerts are listed in the monthly Le Monde de la Musique.

The Paris Autumn Festival was fashioned in 1972 by Michel Guy, Georges Pompidou's Minister of Culture. The Festival d'Automne quickly became a junction for avant-garde and forward-looking artistic creation. The Festival draws large audiences and motivates wide public interest.

Festival de Saint-Denis is a festival of a rich and varied program of standard classical works. The festival has commissioned a new work entitled Tentation d'Istanbul by Turkish musician Mercan Dede. Created specially for the Saint-Denis Basilica, Tentation d'Istanbul was inspired by Fatih Akin's film Crossing the bridge.

Anyone planning a visit to Paris, and wanting to take in city or local festivals, would do well to check for schedules pertaining to the time of their trip. There is a wide variety of events to satisfy almost any taste, at almost any time of the year.

"Singin' In Paris" is a 62-hour series of musical presentations in a luxurious 17th century mansion in the Marais district. There is a wide variety of programs focusing on songs about Paris as well as featuring songs in French that are famous around the world.

Parisians also commemorate the impending summer season on a grand scale, usually in the latter part of June. The Fête de la Musique has its official schedule of events usually a free concert generally held on the Place de République, also including a public spirited plethora of improvised shows and concerts that take place in venues large and small.

Paris has its portion of parades like the French Mardi Gras type, Techno Parade. This sparkling, costumed variety of techno music winds its way through the east section of Paris, generally in mid-September. The participants and audience are generally of the younger generation.

In Paris the Film Festival takes place in spring; it showcases more than a hundred films over six Parisian cinemas. The whole festival includes premierès, press awards, public awards, and film novel prizes. Another ongoing occasion for tourists to get off their feet and enjoy some fine French cinema is a visit to the Forum des Images video library. Visual arts celebrations are abundant, and one should be able to find something going on at almost any time one visit.

Nicene Creed Catholic Explained

June 27th, 2009 raphael's helper No comments

Question for Catholics?

I was at a Catholic Church before Las Vegas and took a piece home with me in the Literature belief, I think the "Nicene Creed" of the Church of the party after announcing the death of Jesus ... he said "It He descended into hell ...." I am deeply troubled by this and asked the priest told me it had to go somewhere I never grasped the meaning of this .. how Jesus could descend into hell?

Jesus descended to the dead. Neither the world or hell. Jesus opened the gates of Hell to free the righteous from the clutches of the devil. This site is a good place to ask questions to the priests for information correct. You http://www.askfather.net/ Find a wealth of information by reading other peoples questions and answers given. I found answers to questions I never thought. God Bless You, ;-)
