Traditional easter games And Some New Fun easter activities - Part I

Easter is a wonderful holiday, especially for children. Family and friends have a great excuse to get together, and there’s great food and games. The games are key, as Easter is a time of the year that children really look forward to. After all, every year they expect the easter bunny to hide eggs, baskets, and/or treats, that they can than go and find.

So with such high expectations, what can we do to keep the kids happy and entertained? Why, games of course! Here is a list of some of the best easter day games, guaranteed to meet both kids and parents expectations for a wonderful Easter.

The Egg Hunt

As already mentioned above, one of the most anticipated games of Easter is the Egg Hunt. In fact, it doesn’t matter if you have a small home or the weather isn’t cooperating for you to hide the eggs outside. An egg hunt doesn’t actually need a lot of space to still be fun. All you really need is creativity, and a half hour to an hour to play the game.

Just remember when you’re hiding eggs: don’t make the game to difficult! Hide them in easy to reach places, such as under bed or couch pillows, or behind the stuffed animals in a child’s room. This is a great hiding place because these soft toys are safe for children to be around, as stuffed lions, teddy bears, and other plush animals don’t have sharp corners or require kids to climb to get to them. The inside of shoes can also be a really fun hiding place, just make sure that the shoes you put the eggs in aren’t going to be worn, or you may find yourself with a mess! Remember, it’s very important to hide them in places within a child’s reach, because climbing sets them up for a fall, and safety should always be your foremost concern for children.

Also, just because the game is called an "egg hunt" doesn’t mean you have to just stick with eggs. Hide a stuffed rabbit in the home also, and tell them that the Easter Bunny left them a cousin of his to play with. In fact, you can use many things besides eggs. One really popular idea is hiding an easter basket or baskets. You can fill the basket with candy (chocolate bunny rabbits, jellybeans, etc) and toys, like another stuffed bunny or a plush duckling. If you’ve got several children, and you want to make sure that they each get a basket, put each child’s name on one basket and tell them that they have to find the one that’s for them. This will most certainly be a great start to your Easter holiday!

easter crafts

After the excitement and chaos of the Egg Hunt, it’s nice to have an activity for the kids that will wind everyone down, which is where doing Easter crafts come in. This is also great because it doesn’t require as much supervision as the egg hunt, and so is a little break for everyone. All you really need is some paper and crayons and the children can create all sorts of Easter related masterpieces. You can even give them some artistic inspiration by creating a display for them to base their pictures on. The display could have painted eggs, some chicks and a bunny.
Then you can make things as structured or unstructured as you’d like. Let them use their imaginations and draw anything they want about Easter, or tell them what do draw, such as painted eggs with chicks cracking through the shell, or a picture of the Easter bunny hiding eggs. You could even turn this into a contest, with the first prize drawing winning the bunny in the display, the second prize winning the chick, and everyone else getting the eggs as a consolidation prize.

The egg hunt and the arts and craft projects are very traditional Easter games, but you can make them more fun than usual by adding plush chicks and a stuffed bunny to motivate the children even more. Remember, there’s a lot you can do to make your Easter holiday one that all the kids will have fond memories of, just follow some of these simple ideas!

What To Do While On Vacation In New York

New York has four distinct seasons, ranging from cold winters to hot summers. Spring and Autumn are generally regarded as the best time to visit as it is not too cold or too hot.

Many Europeans come across during the winter months to shop and are amazed at the beautiful blue sky but surprised at how cold it is. If they are lucky and there is a snow fall, they will flock to Central Park and join the locals sledding and some even ski on Pilgrim Hill. Most tourists try to avoid New York in the summer when temperatures are often unbearable.

Many tourists flock to Fifth Avenue where there are several parades held there each year and also free concerts. St Patrick's Day Parade consists of tens of thousands of locals covering the entire area in a sea of green costumes and floats on March 17th each year. The parade starts at Fifth Avenue and 44th Street at 11am each year.

Another parade not to be missed is Easter Parade when New Yorkers dress up in their best clothes and stroll along Fifth Avenue from 44th to 86th Streets every easter sunday. In mid May they celebrate Martin Luther King; in fact New Yorkers like to celebrate with parades most months and many of these parades start on Fifth Avenue.

New York offers a wide range of accommodation catering for most price brakes. A new popular form of accommodation is the renting of holiday apartments and homes in the heart of the city.

The City is famous for the large number of restaurants that it has. It is said that there are over 17,000 and just about every imaginable taste is catered for. New Yorkers are hard people to please when it comes to their food and as a result restaurants offer excellent service and quality of food to please them. New Yorkers also like good value for money and in order for restaurants to survive, they have had to offer extremely good value for money.

As well as fine food, there are plenty of coffee houses, grills, steak houses and Chinese restaurants offering a great choice of cheap food with quick friendly service. For people in a rush, New York offers some of the best fast food outlets in the world. It does not matter if it is day or night, you can always get something to eat twenty four hours a day in New York.

Coffee houses are also open twenty four hours a day in New York and many serve hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. There is something special about having a strong black coffee in New York sitting in a Coffee House watching the rest of the City go about their work as you relax taking in the atmosphere.

As well as having some fabulous shops on Fifth Avenue (Most of the famous department stores are based here), New York is also home to Trump Tower. It is worth a visit to Trump Tower just to experience the sheer elegance and opulence of the boutiques.

As well as fashion, New York has a great selection of antique shops and art galleries. It is regarded as the entertainment capital of the world with ballet, dance, concerts, opera and theatre. Most tourists come back to New York year after year as the City has so much for them to see and do.

Michael Cappetta : Video Producer

Michael Cappetta is more likely to have his nose behind a camera on location than buried in a book at the library.

At this time last year, as a high school senior, he was working nine-hour weekdays and from opening to closing time on the weekends at his own business at Beachwood Place.

With a creative mind and entrepreneurial skills, he might be found shooting video scenes at the Chagrin Falls Fire Station or on the crew of a major motion picture. The young businessman, who has represented the national franchise Kids Idol for the last several years in Ohio and sells the personalized compact discs and digital videos at his own Kids Idol Music kiosk and through the Internet, has a new venture.

Earlier this year, he proposed the idea of a personalized video to Mediak, a producer of children's products based in Louisville, Ky. "The 'You Can Do Anything' DVD is a collection of eight personalized music videos, each having a specific education and motivational message to the child," Mr. Cappetta said. "In one song, the child is in charge of the zoo, and the song teaches him or her about animals."

Last spring and summer, some scenes were shot at the fire station in Chagrin Falls, where children posed as firefighters, wearing Chagrin Falls uniforms. Other scenes were shot at Chabam in Woodmere for a Simon says-style song with each child's name dubbed in place of Simon.

The motivational and educational digital video disc stars children from the original cast of the Fox television show "Are you Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" It includes Alana Ethridge and Jacob Hays, who appears as Sonny Raines on "The Super Short Report" on the Disney Channel.

Thousands of copies of the eight-original-songs video, which is personalized and contains each child's name more than 105 times, have been delivered to kids around the world, Mr. Cappetta said. Kids Idol has seen immense growth through the year, he said. "My biggest obstacle is that Kids Idol is a fourth-quarter holiday gift item, but, through different marketing approaches, we have changed that" to be a viable gift throughout the year, he said.

Mr. Cappetta was responsible for all video compositions and images on the screen for "You Can Do Anything" videos, and Mediak was responsible for the audio production of the personalized music.

Chabam, an educational center for young children, provided an exceptional background and lent itself well to a production like the "You Can Do Anything" video, Mr. Cappetta said. "The Chagrin Falls Fire Department was equally as helpful in allowing us to film in their fire station and teach children they can do anything, with a dream."

Earlier this year, Mr. Cappetta worked on a crew for the soon-to-be released Dreamworks Pictures movie "The Soloist," starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. He also worked on the "The Biggest Loser," which airs on NBC.

360 Saints Row 2

360 saints row 2
360 saints row 2
I have an xbox 360, should i get saints row 2, lord of the rings conquest or halo wars?

i cant decide, with your experiences what do you suggest?

i'm thinking saints row 2. I bought it the day it came out and i'm still playing it. the free roaming is just so much fun! and the online makes it even better. definitely a must have. Halo Wars comes second , but that doesn't mean it's not a good game. It just wouldn't keep you playing nearly as long as saints Row. Last, AND least is LOTR.Definitely a must not have. the campaign is so thin, you can never tell is you are even blocking. ground units are the only thins in the game. It's just so basic, don't ever waste your money on it. and i know i'm not the only one who's hating it. local newspapers gave it a 1 out of 10. no joke. and reviews on the run (Gaming show) didn't like it at all either.

Spirit of Christmas Fun Run

Seasons Greetings Pop Pickers! Here's the Top 10 in Fun Christmas Gifts (christmas Gifts)

Christmas is a time of celebration a time for families, a time for friends and, most importantly, a time for fun. Perhaps it's the holidays from work, or even the thought of opening up all those Christmas gifts that somehow brings out the child in us, and the older we get, it would seem, the more immature we can become.

For those of you who can still remember the anticipation of waiting for Santa Clause on Christmas Eve, and the fun of tearing off the wrapping paper on those Christmas gifts on Christmas morning, then you might believe that Christmas no longer has that same level of excitement, and if this is the case, then you're simply not trying hard enough! With a little bit of careful thought and consideration to what you buy your friends and family, it is possible to recreate that feeling of Christmas joy with some fabulous Christmas gifts.

The trick to buying good Christmas gifts for people is to really get an understanding of what they like, what they don't like, what they're good at, and what they're hopeless at.

If your partner has a passion for something other than yourself, or if your parents are partial to a particular past time, then why not indulge them and look for those Christmas Gifts that will have a practical use as well as making them smile. If you know someone who enjoys cooking for example, then why not treat them to their own herb garden gift box this Christmas? Ideal for the kitchen window sill or garden pot, these Christmas gifts are great for those budding gardeners too. Or what about a Mini Putting Practice gift for those golfing enthusiasts?

Sometimes Christmas can be a great excuse to have a little bit of fun with those people in our lives who perhaps need reminding of a little bad habit such as struggling to wake up quickly in the mornings. The 'Clocky Clock Alarm Clock' is a great Christmas gift for those reluctant teenagers, particularly for Christmas morning, and it runs away from sleepy people to ensure that they are more than wide awake when they go to switch it off. Or what about those members of the family who are a little bit accident prone? There is a wide selection of designer Plasters such as the 'Art School Collection' or the 'Crime Scene Bandages', which can make great stocking fillers for any member of the family.

Sometimes buying Christmas gifts for people can be a great excuse just to be naughty and for those who are less sentimental about the religious connotations of Christmas, (or who want to buy a cheeky gift for those who are!) then Christmas gifts don't get much cheekier than 'The Good Book flask in a book': a hip flask secretly hidden inside a bible.

Christmas can be a great time of year to come across those everyday items that may at first glance look peculiar, but once you have them you wonder how you ever managed without them. These Christmas gifts can be ideal stocking fillers, or simply just fun presents for the whole family to enjoy. Try out the Robocup Egg Cup and you'll understand.

No matter how well you know someone, occasionally there are just those moments when you a draw a blank when it comes to thinking of what Christmas gifts they might want or need. What do you get for the person who has it all? If you're lucky enough to be best friends with a millionaire for example, then how do you ensure that you get them something that they will remember? The simple answer is to buy them nothing literally. Believe it or not, it's finally here the Christmas gift of 'Nothing' in the form of a small ball that doesyou guessed itnothing at all. The Three Wise Men might have had something to say about this, but at least Santa won't have to carry very much.

If it's the thrill of opening up the presents that excites you most about Christmas then what do you do later on the day when everything has been unwrapped and the Christmas dinner has become a messy pile of washing up? Make sure that the fun keeps on going with a series of party games that everyone can join in with. Remember not to take this too seriously however with all the drink around and spirits high it might be easy to find things getting a bit heated, but with the right person in control, a series of challenges and games can bring everyone together. Try the Christmas Game Tin for a bit of variety, or maybe even design your own Monopoly game to make sure there are no fights about who gets Mayfair and Park Lane. Both make for real fun and original Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

Jesus Word Made Flesh

jesus word made flesh
jesus word made flesh

The Word Was Made Flesh

The mystical gospel of John starts off the first chapter (v. 14) informing us that the Word was made flesh. But why have we limited this only to Jesus, as most denominations do? We are the WORD made FLESH as well. Father-Consciousness spoke every WORD. Father-Consciousness said LET THERE BE and every WORD spoken thus became, and IS, and ever shall BE. Once you accept the eternality of you, I, and we'all (Texan for us), life forever changes!

For those who believe in an eternal hell, Luke 3:6 is usually skipped over rather quickly or rationalized away in some fashion. Hey, I know, I used to do just that. But that notwithstanding,  it says that " All FLESH shall see God (or salvation". Almost every translation says basically the same thing so majority rules y'all!   :-)

In Revelation 22 (it's in the RED!) we read that "Behold I come quickly and I bring my reward with me". That would then be Jesus speaking. "I" is the UNION of matter-body and Spirit. Jesus (body-matter) and Christ (Spirit) is the FLESH- that you and I are as well. We BE the word made flesh. God spoke "Let there BE" and whatever came after BE- WAS (another form of the verb of course).

Flesh is eternal, real, unchanging and capable of living IN the world and yet not OF it. Ever heard that one before?

Until we understand our permanent identity, we will never enter into the Father-Consciousness!

Jesus reminded us over and over again that He of His ownself could do NADA! He could only do miracles when He entered into the Father-Consciousness. We are to enter the LAND (another state of consciousness) and keep possessing it until "doing miracles is a frequent event". Hey, isn't that what jesus said that we could do- even greater things than He!

May we get serious about uniting our body and Spirit.

But, it can only be accomplished in COMMUNITY!

Christmas Story With Jim Carrey

August 29th, 2008 raphael's helper No comments

christmas story with jim carrey

Worst Dr. Seuss Movie "Cat in the Hat" or "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"?

OK, TBS is showing "The Cat in the Hat" with Mike Myers. Now I love Dr. Seuss and all his stories but which is worst. In terms of acting Jim Carrey (Grinch) vs Mike Myers (Cat in Hat)? Story that was added on to extend the book? Sell out of Hollywood studios that killed a classic children story? I think Cat was the worst but the Grinch was not too far behind. What do you think?

I liked both movies but Cat in the Hat was the better of the two, in my opinion. In fact, I went out and bought a copy of Cat in the Hat and watch it for the hilarious scenes, such as when Alec Baldwin is covered in that purple slim. That cracks me up every time. Oh, I made a rhyme! lol
